UDAI Institutions

The ministry of education has implemented 140 District Units Supporting Inclusion (UDAI in spanish). With the objective of streghthening Specialized and Inclusive Education, and thus guarantee access, permanence, participation and learning of children and teens with special eduactional needs associated or not with disability.

Mission:
The mission of the UDAIs to facilitate the iclusion of children and teens with special eduactional needs associated or not with a disability, with preference for those who are in a situation or at risk of exclusion, marginalization or abandonmen of the educational process. Through three areas of attention: evaluation/ location, intervention, and monitoring, favoring their acces, permanence, participation, learning, promotion and completion in the Nacional Education System.


Professional functions of the UDAI:

• Perform the progress of psychopedagogical assessment and identification of strengths and potentials, recommendations, and follow up of students referred to the UDAI.
• Guide teachers in the preparation of curricular adaptation and inclusion processes, establishing guidelines to follow.
• Support with methodology and proposals to the teacher in the process of the teaching and learning of the student with special educational needs associated or not to the disability inside and outside the classroom.
• Review, validate and approve psychipedagogical evaluations, reports of evaluation results (internal and/or external), monitoring reports, information to be imparted on training, advice or sensitization, technical reports prepared by members of the UDAI.
